District FOL is happening November 13-14th here at our church and ENC! Attached is the registration form. It's due back to me by October 31st! I'll be explaining Festival of Life a little more in the next couple of weeks, but if you have questions before then, email or text them to me. I'm also in need of parent help at this event, so please let me know if you'd be willing and available to help out.

This weekend we'll be heading up to Maine for our fall retreat! If you've already signed up online, thank you! If not, please do so no later than this evening, as I need to make final transportation arrangements tomorrow and begin to purchase food and other essentials.

If you haven't signed up yet, you can do so here! Note that I've changed the settings on the event so that you can register without paying online. In the future I'll be sure to enable this for all events for those of you who would rather pay by cash or check.


I've attached the information from the website here for your reference. Please note that I'm changing the departure time on Friday evening from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM to help people get here after practices and have dinner before we leave. Also, if you need to come up a little later on Friday evening because of a game or other commitment, please let me know ASAP as we will have a vehicle making a later trip Friday and we can coordinate a time for you to come up.

If you have any questions before Friday, just send them my way. It's going to be a great time and I think God's got some great things to say to us! Please try to arrive a little before 6:00 on Friday if you can.

When: We will leave at 6:00 PM on Friday, 9/18, and return to church on Sunday, 9/20 at approximately 5:00 PM. Please eat dinner before you arrive to leave on Friday evening.

Where: Casco, Maine, at the cabin of a church member.

How much: The retreat this year will cost $60. You can pay with a credit card online, with cash or write a check out to Wollaston Church of the Nazarene.

Why should I go: It’s going to be a great weekend to get away and hear from God, and a great weekend to hang out with friends and have some fall fun! There’ll be great services together, football, apple picking, hiking, campfires, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff!

What should I bring: Here’s the list of things to bring. Pack as light as you can but don’t leave anything behind! 


Necessities: 
Clothes (It might be cool, bring a jacket. I’d recommend bringing older clothes that you’re not necessarily in love with!) 
Bible (Don’t forget this) 
Sleeping bag 
Pillow 
Toiletries 
Towel

Optional: 
Flashlight, card games, personal snacks

What not to bring: 
Fireworks 
Weapons of any kind (knives included) 
Things that only exist to annoy other people 

*You are permitted to bring your cell phone, although service is spotty. Cell phone use will not be permitted during certain times (services, group activities, etc.), and if students break these rules their phone will be confiscated and returned on Sunday when we leave for home.

Note: You must have a liability waiver on file with the church in order to attend. These are available attached to this email if you haven't already filled one out.

Here's just a few quick reminders about what's coming up for teens...

On Sunday, September 6th, don't miss Promotion Sunday in the morning for all you incoming 7th graders, and also don't miss the picnic after church!

That evening, come on back for our fall kick-off! You do not want to miss this great night! 

Next Sunday, 9/13, new parents and teens can join us at 5:00 for Youth Group Orientation!


Finally, don't forget to sign up for retreat at http://mosaicyouthministry.smartevents.com. Registration closes 9/12!

I hope all is well. Here's your update on youth ministry for this week,

We had a great time last night as the Early Youthers joined us. We played some games, came up with some hilarious skits, sang some songs, and heard a message from Pastor Bev about choices. Thanks for coming out and if you weren't able to, come on next week!

Next Sunday night, August 30th, come from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Eckardt house for our last pool party of the summer! Bring your bathing suit, a towel, and a snack to share (girls bring a salty snack, boys bring a sweet snack). The Eckardt's house is at 61 Forest St, Milton, Massachusetts 02186. If you need a ride there, we can most likely arrange a carpool or someone can pick you up at the church, just let me know.

Sunday, September 6th is our promotion Sunday and our Youth Group Kick-off for the fall! On Sunday morning, incoming 7th graders will join us for Sunday School for the first time, and after church there's an all church picnic on the grounds. Then, that evening from 6:00-8:00 we have our kick-off for youth group with games, prizes, special guests, and more. Don't miss it! There's a special prize for the student that brings the most friends.

Don't forget about our Youth Group Orientation on 9/13 from 5:00-6:00 (before youth group). Parents and new teens are invited to come for an hour and hear about what to expect throughout the year, how they can be involved, and some policy information as well. 

Fall Retreat! Our retreat is happening September 18-20. Sign up online at http://mosaicyouthministry.smartevents.com. If you have questions about this, let me know. Registration closes Sunday, September 13th.

2015-2016 Release Form - If you haven't filled out a youth group health and permission form for this coming year, please take a few minutes and do so today. Drop it off in the black box in the youth room the next time you're at church! I need a current form on file for students to participate in off-campus events (like retreat!). It's attached to this email and needs to be signed by both parent and teen.

I hope you're doing well. A few quick things. (I know some of you haven't officially joined the youth group yet, but I wanted to get this information to you now.)

1. Don't forget to sign up for Six Flags! You MUST do so by tomorrow night (Wednesday) if you are going!

2. Registration for our fall retreat on 9/18-20 is now available! You can sign up online here.

3. Parents meeting on Sunday after service (only for current parents of students, incoming 7th graders' parents need not attend).

Attached to this post is a fall newsletter for youth group activities and programming. Please read over it when you get a chance! I'll be sending out these publications about once a quarter from now on.

After a busy week of helping out with VBS, come on out on Friday night (7/31) to the Eckardt's house for a night of fun at the pool!

We'll meet at the Eckardt's house (61 Forest Street, Milton) at 6:30 and plan to wrap up (and be picked up) by 9:30.

I'll provide the drinks. If you're a boy bring a sweet snack to share, and if you're a girl, bring a salty snack to share. Bring your bathing suit and a towel as well. 

If you need a ride, let me know! Hope you can make it!

Here's the details for our upcoming day at the lake!
1. If you haven't signed up online yet, you MUST do so by tomorrow so that I know how much food to buy. Here's the link again: Sign up here.

2. What to bring...
  • Bathing suit
  • Towel 
  • $10 if you haven't paid online
  • Sports stuff (Whiffle, frisbee, etc.)
  • Sunscreen/bug spray (We will have some, but if anyone can bring their own it's appreciated)
  • Comfortable clothes
  • Games

3. Logistics! Just a reminder to meet at 9:00 AM here at church and that we will return around 10:00 PM. 

I also want to remind  you about our babysitting night on Friday! Plan to be here by 5:15 and be picked up at 9:45. See you then!
